This year marks 25 years of the real Living Wage movement, led by the Living Wage Foundation – and we’re proud to continue playing our part.
What began as a grassroots campaign driven by low-paid workers has grown into one of the most successful civil society movements of the 21st century, delivering over half a million pay rises and improving the lives of millions across the UK.
Today, more than 16,000 UK employers have chosen to pay the real Living Wage, recognising that fair pay is not just the right thing to do, but a smart business decision.
At InspireWaste, paying the real Living Wage is a deliberate choice we continue to make as part of how we run the business.
For us, it comes down to recognising the real cost of living and the role fair pay plays in building a stable, reliable workforce. It’s not about statements or labels, but about making sure pay levels reflect everyday realities.
A practical decision, not a gesture
- Support consistency and retention
- Create clearer expectations on both sides
- Maintain a professional and respectful working environment
Looking ahead
We’ve chosen to remain part of the real Living Wage movement because it fits our approach to growth: steady, responsible, and people-focused.
While the framework is supported nationally by organisations such as the Living Wage Foundation, our decision is straightforward – to set pay at a level we believe is reasonable and sustainable.
